Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.124.02 Release
Minecraft update 1.21.124 is a full-fledged hotfix that addresses bugs that have accumulated since recent builds. The developers focused on client stability and fixing issues related to texture rendering, input handling, and network protocols.
One of the key improvements was a reduction in excessive memory consumption that occurred when using the lag-improved mode. Resource optimization now makes the game run more smoothly on low-end and mid-range devices.
Several crashes in Survival Mode, which could cause unexpected crashes, have been fixed. On several systems, pink textures, which were caused by incorrect resource loading and caused image artifacts, have been eliminated.
World generation has also been refined: structures are now rendered more accurately, and interaction with some environmental elements has been improved. All changes fit seamlessly into the MCPE 1.21 update series, which continues to improve the stability of Bedrock Edition.
A more recent build is also available—Minecraft PE 1.21.130 APK—which features improved mounts, optimization, and Mounts of Mayhem mechanics. It is recommended for installation as the current version.
Blocks
In Minecraft 1.21.124.02, a bug related to the sound effect playing when touching a shelf was fixed. The error occurred when a player interacted with a shelf in Creative Mode while holding an empty hand. The game mistakenly assumed this was an item placement.
Previously, in such situations, the placement sound would play, even though no item existed in the world. Additionally, the developers fixed an error in the Copper Hatch recipe. Players could obtain two items at once with a single crafting session—effectively creating a mini-dubber, which is now locked. Recipes work according to their original parameters.
Shelves
In Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.124, the shelf mechanics have been updated: players will now feel a vibration whenever they interact with an item—place it, edit it, or remove it. The new haptic system makes interactions more expressive.
The strength of the vibration changes depending on the context. For example, a stronger redstone signal can increase the intensity of the response. The shelf dynamically changes its texture when connected to redstone, which helps visually identify its status from a distance. Removing an item causes the same vibration in all conditions. This mechanic is designed to immediately indicate that an item has been removed, even if the action occurs outside the player's line of sight.
What's new in Minecraft update 1.21.124.02
Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.124 fixes a significant texture memory leak that occurred during active network activity. This issue occurred on servers with a large number of players frequently joining and leaving the game. This optimization prevents client overload and improves stability in multiplayer sessions.
Packet verification errors that prevented some players from joining Realms after installing add-ons have been fixed. The network protocol now verifies packets more correctly, and connections to servers are now possible without unexpected blocking.
The developers also fixed several input-related bugs: — an error that caused the mouse cursor to interact with external pop-up windows; — an issue with incorrect IME input, affecting character input in certain language layouts.
